Over the course of the past Fall semester, Matthias taught a seminar in Guitar History at Soochow University School of Music.

Mandatory for all undergraduate guitar students, this class covered the development of string instruments from Antiquity to the Renaissance period, the inception and rise of the guitar, as well as significant guitarists and their legacy.
