After judging the auditions in Guangzhou on March 5, Matthias gave a masterclass at Xinghai Conservatory's guitar studio.

Invited and intepreted by Professor Kenneth Kwan, he instructed the students in the approach of Bach's music and 20th-century sonatas. The following day, Matthias taught at MusicCity in Hong Kong, where renowned guitarists such as David Russell and Gerald Garcia have previously given masterclasses as well.
