At the beginning of May 2015, Matthias was a guest artist at the Guitar Festival in Daqing, Heilongjiang, China.

Among other guitarists like Irina Kulikova and Danny Yeh, he performed a solo recital and taught a masterclass. In addition, he gave a lecture on the Interpretation of Bach's Works on the Guitar for the local guitar teachers.
