On June 21, Matthias was invited to teach and perform at the Guitar Salon Shanghai, where William Kanengiser, Professor of Guitar at the University of Southern California, had given a masterclass before as well.

After the masterclass, Matthias played a small recital in which he performed Fantasie Hongroise by Johann Kaspar Mertz, Prelude-Fuga-Allegro (BWV 998) by Johann Sebastian Bach, and The Fall of Birds by Nikita Koshkin.
